Become a Shaw Member Today!
When you make a financial donation to the Shaw Festival, you become a Shaw Member. And right away you help sustain the work and vision of our actors, directors, designers and artisans, and support the creation of exceptional theatre. As a charitable not-for-profit organization, The Shaw is dependent upon your donation to help fill the gap between earned revenue (revenue from ticket sales, for example) and the cost of mounting a season of theatre.
As a Member you enjoy an insider’s view of The Shaw, and benefits such as early ticket ordering, special events such as Members Days and ’Wednesdays with Shaw’, a subscription to our Members magazine, complimentary refreshments on the Members Terrace during intermission, behind-the-scenes tours, and more. Donations of $1500 and above place you within the Governors Council – an ever-growing group of generous individuals who provide vital leadership through their donations.
Fast Facts
- What difference does my gift make?
You directly support productions on stage – helping cover the cost of equipment and supplies to build sets, props and costumes, and to maintain the high quality for which The Shaw is internationally renowned. You also support education programs for young people – both in the theatre and in schools – and provide apprenticeship training opportunities for emerging theatre artists.
- In what other ways could I support The Shaw?
Make a gift in honour of an individual who is special to you. Inquire about matching gifts at work. Consider a planned gift, which includes bequests, life insurance gifts, life income gifts, real estate gifts and retirement savings plan gifts. Or give to the Special Production Appeal – an annual campaign with a specific focus, such as the Apprentice Actor program. There are many special projects that would benefit from your support.
