Helen's Necklace
1

Helen has lost her necklace. The plastic string of pearls is of little monetary value but great sentimental importance. On a sudden impulse, she goes in search of it. Taken on a delirious journey by taxi through the streets of a Middle Eastern city carrying the scars of a recent war, she comes to learn what loss truly means. From the acclaimed Quebec playwright celebrated for her unique, poetic style.

Like last season’s hit play, When the Rain Stops Falling, the Studio Theatre houses another powerful impressionistic drama. I am so pleased to introduce another brilliant contemporary Quebec voice to The Shaw, after the wonderful audience response to her colleagues Michel Tremblay and Michel Marc Bouchard. —Jackie Maxwell

The play is recommended for ages 14 and up.
