This musical traces Maria’s life from the slums of Lisbon to her relationship with Count Armando de Vimioso, the dashing aristocrat and bullfighter, and her transformation into the singer everyone wanted to hear. The world premiere of a romantic musical set in a vivid new world for our audiences to visit, coloured by the haunting and passionate music inspired by the real life figure. “There is little more exciting in the theatre than witnessing a brand new story on stage for the first time.
