Evan Alexander Smith

Evan makes his Shaw Festival debut this season appearing in both Ragtime and His Girl Friday.

Most recently, Evan starred as Brad in The Rocky Horror Show at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, and as Fred in A Christmas Carol at the Rose Theatre. Favourite credits include, the title role in the Canadian cast production of The Toxic Avenger Musical for Dancap Productions – a role which earned him a Dora nomination for outstanding performance by a male in a musical; Matt in The Fantasticks at Red Barn Theatre, and Woody in Toy Story: The Musical for Disney Cruise Lines.

Evan won a Gemini Award for his contribution to Hot Toxic Love: The Making of The Toxic Avenger Musical, a documentary that focused on his performance in the show from auditions to opening night. He is a 2009 graduate of George Brown Theatre School. Evan is elated to be part of the ensemble at the Shaw Festival. “This one is for Sarah; my beautiful, soon-to-be-wife.”
