Jonathan Gould

Jonathan Gould
Mr Jonathan Gould returns to the Shaw Festival this 50th season appearing as
Fernando in the world premiere of Maria Severa by Turvey and Sportelli and as
Mr Felix in Ferenc Molnár’s The President. Jonathan last appeared at The Shaw
as Louis Dubedat in Bernard Shaw’s The Doctor’s Dilemma and as Montford in
Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband.

Selected theatre credits include Awake and Sing! (Soulpepper Theatre Company);
Over the River and Through the Woods (Magnus Theatre); Summer and Smoke,
The Kiltartan Comedies (Shaw Festival); Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night,
London Assurance, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Triumph of Love (Stratford
Shakespeare Festival); Richard III, The Duchess of Malfi (BCCT); Substance of Fire
(Lincoln Center Institute); As you like it, 1776, The lower depths, A Midsummer
Night’s Dream, Chekhov in Yalta, Our Town (NCSA).

Television credits include Scaredy Squirrel (YTV/series lead), Budrus (CBCTV)
and The Buck Calder Experience (CHUMTV).

After graduating from the North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in classical theatre, Jonathan went on to perform in several new works and staged readings with the 78th Street Theater Lab and Lincoln Center Institute in New York City, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Canadian Film Centre and the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, where he was also a member of the 2006 Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Theatre.

Jonathan is also a singer and songwriter and has been a co-writer on several albums including the Juno award winning album Music Soup.

He currently voices the role of Dave in the new animated series Scaredy Squirrel on YTV.
