Kiera Sangster

Ms Kiera Sangster returns for her sixth season at the Shaw Festival. This season, she will appear in Ragtime and His Girl Friday. The last time Kiera was on the Shaw stages, she appeared as Mademoiselle Jeanne in J.M. Barrie’s The Admirable Crichton, and in the Lerner and Loewe musical My Fair Lady. Previously at the Shaw Festival, Kiera was seen in Wonderful Town, The President, Follies: In Concert, Mack and Mabel, Hotel Peccadillo, Gypsy, Happy End (2005), Pygmalion and Pal Joey.

Kiera has appeared in productions for the cruise company Holland America Line, taking her to such places as Alaska, the Panama Canal and the Caribbean. Other stage credits include The Election (Stage Kids Productions); Cirque Magique (Ontario Place, LH Productions); and productions as a company dancer for Culture Shock Dance Troupe.

Kiera has extensive film and television credits that include Cheetah Girls; Mother’s Gift (The Britney Spears Project); Honey, Stormy Weather; Ruby’s Bucket of Blood; Mr Bojangles; Unspoken Promise; Fashion Cares 20th Gala.

Kiera majored in dance at the Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts and Claude Watson. She is a teacher and choreographer of acrobatics, tap, hip hop, jazz and ballet.

Kiera was born and raised in Toronto. Beverley, a single mother, raised Kiera and her older brother Donovan with open and loving arms. “We were always encouraged to participate in anything our hearts desired.” Kiera enjoys rollerblading, nature/outdoor activities, swimming and anything that makes the heart race. Family, immediate or not, is very important to her.
