Kirsten Watt

This season, Kirsten Watt returns to the Shaw Festival to design the lighting for French Without Tears.
Kristen’s Shaw credits include lighting designer for Half an Hour and Star Chamber; as well as Overruled and The Man in the Stalls (Directors Projects); assistant lighting designer for Maria Severa, The Admirable Crichton, Drama at Inish, One Touch of Venus, Harvey, Sunday in the Park with George, After the Dance, A Little Night Music, The Stepmother and Tristan; and apprentice lighting designer for The Kiltartan Comedies.
Other design credits include The Play’s the Thing, Blithe Spirit and Over the River and Through the Woods for Segal Theatre (Montreal); Heroes for Thousand Islands Playhouse (Gananoque); The 39 Steps for Lyndesfarne Theatre Projects (St Catharines); Hard Ways and 17.5 for Essential Collective Theatre Company (St Catharines); The (Post) Mistress, The Fly Fisher’s Companion and Hockey Mom, Hockey Dad for Magnus Theatre (Thunder Bay); Michel & ti-Jean for Centaur Theatre (Montreal); Un Tramway nommé Désir for Théâtre du Rideau Vert (Montreal); and Truth and Treason for Teesri Duniya Theatre (Montreal).
Kirsten attained her B.A. (Drama) from the University of Alberta (Edmonton). She specialized in lighting design at the National Theatre School of Canada (Montreal). Kirsten is a member of Associated Designers of Canada and L’Association des Professionnels des Arts de la Scène du Québec. She currently resides in Kitchener.
