Thom Allison

Thom Allison returns for his third season at The Shaw appearing as Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guy and Dolls and Bilton in Major Barbara. In addition to acting, he is also the assistant director for Major Barbara. Last season, Thom appeared as Coalhouse Walker Jr. in Ragtime and as Diamond Louie in His Girl Friday. Previous Shaw credits include Follies: In Concert, A Little Night Music and Wonderful Town.

Recently, all of Canada caught a glimpse of Thom’s mentoring side when he was featured as one of three celebrity judges on CBC’s Over the Rainbow. He helped select a new Dorothy from a group of potentials for the Toronto production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz.

Thom’s theatre credits include Priscilla Queen of the Desert on Broadway; King Henry VIII, Pericles, Romeo and Juliet, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Tempest, The Threepenny Opera, Hello, Dolly!, The King and I, Macbeth and Into the Woods at Stratford Festival; Miss Saigon, The Who’s Tommy and Rent (Toronto and second national U.S. tour) for Mirvish Productions; Evita at Manitoba Theatre Centre/Theatre Calgary; Take Me Out and Outrageous at Canadian Stage; My Fair Lady at Manitoba Theatre Centre; Annie and Dreamgirls at the Grand Theatre; Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill and Cabaret at Theatre Calgary; Elegies at Acting Up Stage; featured guest artist singing for Stephen Sondheim at the World Leaders’ Salute to Stephen Sondheim; the Canadian premiere of Songs for a New World.

Film and television credits include One Last Dance, Why I Wore Lipstick…, Leaving Metropolis, MVP, Imprint, Road to Christmas, and I Me Wed.
