Low Canadian dollar means american theatregoers save on ticket prices!

Each year, the Shaw Festival welcomes theatregoers from all over the United States. Right now, as our American patrons, you enjoy a special advantage over our Canadian visitors.

You save quite significantly when you pay for your theatre tickets with your credit card in US dollars. It wasn’t that long ago that the Canadian dollar was on par or even worth more than the US dollar. Now, the Canadian dollar has weakened so that it is worth about $0.80 US. That means with the strong American dollar, as Americans you can save up to 20% on your theatre tickets (based on the exchange rate of the day offered by your credit card company).

So for example, a $75 ticket to a 2015 Season play at The Shaw would show as about $60 on your credit card bill. Located in historic Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, the Shaw Festival is an easy drive from Buffalo, Rochester, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Detroit. You can easily fly into Buffalo and then we are about 45 minutes away by car. Alternatively, you can fly into Toronto from where we are about 90 minutes away. Here’s how to get here
