Personal Statement: I’ve always loved live theatre. As a student at the London School of Economics (LSE), I was surrounded by London’s West End theatres and attended as many plays as I could afford. While studying in the Shaw Library at LSE, I also developed a special connection with George Benard Shaw, one of the institution’s founders. I came to appreciate his plays, the socio-impact of his idealism and humanity, and the sharp relevance of many of his messages today. A member of the Shaw Festival since 2001, I attend multiple plays and events each year. Throughout my 30+ years as a leader in economic development for the Niagara Region, I have always recognized the cultural and economic importance of the Shaw, and I look forward to working with the Board to help champion the Festival’s bright future.
