Actor and playwright DAMIEN ATKINS has worked at major theatres across Canada and the U.S. His work has been produced by the Stratford Festival, the Grand Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille, Buddies in Bad Times, the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Canadian Stage, the Ensemble Studio Theatre (NYC), the Delaware Theatre Co., theatrefront, Citadel Theatre, Belfry Theatre, The Cultch, Segal Centre, 2btheatre, Theatre Network and Crow’s Theatre. Plays include miss chatelaine, Good Mother, Real Live Girl, Lucy, The Mill, Part Four: Ash, The Gay Heritage Project (with Andrew Kushnir and Paul Dunn), and We Are Not Alone. Both Good Mother and Lucy have been recorded for the radio, as well as published (along with The Gay Heritage Project) by Playwrights Canada Press. Damien has been playwright-in-residence at the University of British Columbia, Canadian Stage, Factory Theatre and Crow’s Theatre, as well as a guest instructor at the National Theatre School. He has received four Dora Awards, as well as Sterling, Jessie and Toronto Theatre Critics awards for his work as an actor and playwright. He is a proud graduate of MacEwan University (Edmonton) and a proud member of The Playwrights Guild of Canada.
