MISS CADENCE (MACHRY) has been a burlesque performer for 15 years (in both Canada & US) and a teacher of burlesque since 2007. She currently runs the Hamilton Burlesque Society which is a platform for advocacy, education, and showcasing new performers in an effort to help rebuild the burlesque community in Hamilton, Ontario.

In 2012 she was inducted into the Canadian Burlesque Hall of Fame and named ISCANS Female Performer of The Year. Miss Cadence was involved with getting the Hamilton city bylaws changed and implementing Canada’s first modern burlesque specific bylaws.

In 2019 she was nominated for a Hamilton Arts Innovations Award, featured on the cover of Hamilton Magazine for her burlesque work, and formed the Hamilton School of Burlesque. Miss Cadence continues to teach out of her studio Creative Heart Space in Hamilton. Currently she has been nominated for a 2020 Women of Distinction Award.
